SnowPACK (Purgatory Adventure Camp for Kids) - This kid's camp is an exciting, fun new day camp for children ages 7-12 who love outdoor winter adventures! Kids will make new friends and participate in fun winter activities, such as tubing, snowshoeing, Nordic skiing, scavenger hunts, building snow sculptures, forts and igloos, and more! Other programs include learning winter skills and safety and doing arts and crafts projects. We give kids time to be kids, be creative, socialize and have fun! Included: daily hot lunch, daily bus transportation to/from Durango/Purgatory, winter program gear rentals (such as tubes, snowshoes, etc), arts & craft supplies and a free SnowPACK t-shirt. Durango Bluegrass Meltdown - This event is dedicated to the promotion and preservation of bluegrass music as an American art form. The Meltdown features three unique, intimate main stages, a super jam, a Durango style barn dance, Saturday night Celtdown, and music flowing from bars, restaurants, coffee houses, and downtown streets and sidewalks--all within walking distance. The headquarters are located in the historic Strater Hotel where jamming and merriment goes on into the wee hours of the morning, as the cowboys and miners would have liked it! |

Iron Horse Bicycle Classic - This Durango race is a race to beat the train! One day in 1971 two brothers raced over the 50 miles and two mountain passes one a conductor on the Iron Horse and the other cycling on his bike. As the train pulled into the Silverton station that day in 1971, the cycling brother was waiting train's arrival. This race has now become a yearly tradition called the Iron Horse Bicycle Classic. |

Railfest - The Durango Railfest is an annual event that celebrates all that goes by rail. Rare and unique railroad equipment and cars are the stars at the Durango Railfest. The Denver and Rio Grande's Galloping Goose is one rail star not to be missed. An 1875 wood fired locomotive is another example of the equipment that appears at the Railfest. This locomotive makes special excursions on the D&SNGR. This an event for all to enjoy, especially railfans. |

USA Pro Cycling Challenge - Durango is serving as the host city, and there will be seven stages this year instead of six and will have stops in Telluride, Montrose, Crested Butte, Aspen, Beaver Creek, Brekenridge, Colorado Springs, Golden, Boulder and finish in Denver. |
