Celebrate Independence Day in Durango with several days of family-friendly events, live music, parades, races, rodeos, and community festivities. From July 2–5, you’ll find plenty of ways to join in the fun, whether you’re cheering on the parade, exploring downtown, or or grabbing a bite at one of Durango’s local restaurants. While there won’t be a fireworks display this year due to ongoing drought conditions, Durango’s packed schedule of events ensures there’s still plenty of patriotic fun to enjoy throughout the holiday weekend.

Line Main Avenue and celebrate Independence Day at Durango’s annual 4th of July Parade. This year’s theme, “We the People! Past, Present & Future,” honors both the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and Colorado’s 150th year of statehood with festive floats, community groups, live entertainment, and plenty of patriotic spirit.

Buckley Park Events
Buckley Park is the hub of Durango’s 4th of July celebrations, hosting family-friendly events throughout the holiday weekend. Enjoy live music, a community picnic, kids’ activities, the Children’s Parade, the Main Avenue Mile, and the popular Street Dance featuring the Grammy Award-winning Dirty Dozen Brass Band.
