There are many ways to experience Durango and Southwest Colorado. You may have taken an ATV rental out to explore or jumped into the San Juan River for a rafting excursion, but have you ever toured Durango from above? Durango Air Tours offers a unique opportunity for Colorado sightseeing. Take in the beauty of the San Juan Mountains and surrounding region from a private plane on your next trip.
There is nothing quite like seeing Durango from above. With Durango Air tours, you can hop on board a classic 1968 Piper Comanche for a private adventure. On your trip, you'll have a chance to spot sights such as the Southern Ute Reservation, Chimney Rock National Monument, Vallecito, Lemon, Missionary Ridge, the Animas Valley and more. Sights depend on trip length and type.
Meet The Pilot
Durango Air Tours is owned and operated by Tom Jensen, a life-long airplane lover. Jensen worked as an engineer building car parts for 6 years, then decided to follow his true passion and become a pilot. He has worked a variety of aviation related jobs, including flying camera film from Durango to Salt Lake City and bringing the developed photos back the next day when disposable cameras were popular. He has also previously done air tours of the Grand Canyon and Lake Powell.
Jensen currently works as an airline captain for United Express flights. This spring, he started Durango Air Tours with the goal of providing affordable air tours to people who want to see the area from a different perspective. Jensen has 3-4 days a week set aside to share his passion for flying with Durango visitors.
More Than A Flight
