Set in the heart of Colorado's San Juan Mountains, Purgatory offers a mountain experience for every age and ability level. Fresh alpine air, wide-open views, and a relaxed atmosphere make it easy to enjoy the outdoors at your own pace, whether it is your first visit or part of a long-standing tradition.

Bike Park

The Purgatory Bike Park is back for summer, welcoming riders to one of the region's top downhill destinations. New riders can build confidence on the smooth turns and rolling terrain of Shangri-La, while more experienced riders can lap the Divinity Flow Trail, La Plata County's only chairlift-served downhill flow trail featuring berms, jumps, and wallrides. Riders looking for technical terrain can also access classic downhill lines, including the historic World Cup DH trail.

Summer Events

Summer at Purgatory is filled with events that bring the mountain community together throughout the season. Highlights include the Total Archery Challenge in July, the Mountain States Cup in August, the Faux'teener Challenge in September, and the resort's annual Oktoberfest celebration to close out the season. Mountain Activities

Beyond the bike park, there are plenty of ways to explore the San Juans. Ride the Inferno Mountain Coaster, take a run on the Alpine Slide, paddle across Twilight Lake, or enjoy scenic chairlift rides with panoramic mountain views. Hiking trails and miles of singletrack begin right from the base area, offering easy access to high-country adventure all summer long.

Power Kids Ski & Bike Pass

Purgatory is committed to making mountain adventure more accessible for families through the Power Kids program. Children ages 12 and under receive a free season pass with no parent purchase required, including unlimited summer biking at Purgatory, Lee Canyon, Brian Head, and year-round access to Spider Mountain.*

In winter, the Power Kids Pass also includes skiing and snowboarding access across U.S. Power Pass resorts, plus select access in Chile at La Parva and Valle Nevado.

Winter at Purgatory

In winter, Purgatory becomes a full-season mountain destination with more than 100 ski and snowboard trails, 11 chairlifts, and terrain for all ability levels. Guests can also enjoy snowcat adventures, tubing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, the mountain coaster, and more throughout the season.

Fun Fund (Winter Only)

During select dates throughout the winter season, guests can receive resort credit for each day of lift tickets purchased through the Fun Fund program. Credits may be used toward dining, retail, activities, and additional resort experiences during your stay.

Plan Ahead & Save

Lift ticket prices vary throughout the season and typically increase closer to arrival dates. Booking early offers the best availability and pricing for both lift tickets and lodging.
