Inferno Mountain Coaster
Purgatory Resort's Inferno Mountain Coaster brings the heat, especially during the summer months. Cars can reach top speeds of 25 mph while taking on twists and turns and downward descents. You'll head through the hills and enjoy mountain peaks as you race along the track. The coaster's cars are equipped with a brake, seat belt, and anti-collision software. Slip Down the Alpine Slide
Colorado's only Alpine Slide is a favorite summer activity at Purgatory Resort. This cool creation lets you glide through the hills and take in alpine views along the way. The Alpine Slide is among the most family-friendly Purgatory Resort summer activity. Riders must be over age 3 and at least 36 inches tall to ride with an adult. Riders over age 6 and above 48 inches tall can glide down the slide alone. Even adults love the slide!

Take a Spin in a Go-Kart
Race to the finish line in one of Purgatory Resort's go-karts! The kids will love the off road track that is built new every spring by Colorado Backcountry Adventures. All go-karts are designed specifically for kids and are equipped with three-point safety harnesses, disc brakes, and front and rear suspension. You can rest easy knowing all drivers and riders are completely safe. Come on out to the Columbine base area and take a lap around the track.

Mountain bikers love the Purgatory Bike Park, especially during the summer months. The mild weather in the San Juan mountains makes for the perfect setting for cruising on the best dirt and clay terrain you'll find in the Four Corners. The Purgatory Bike Park is perfect for riders of all ages and all skill levels. Miles of trails offer everything from single-track to backcountry access.

Looking for an easy ride? One of the most relaxing Purgatory Resort summer activities is the Scenic Chairlift. Fly through the skies and take in breathtaking views of the San Juan Mountains from a lift with room for the whole family. The Scenic Chairlift at Purgatory Resort can seat up to 6 riders per lift and offers scenic summer fun for those aged 3 and up.

Twilight Lake
Twilight Lake is a majestic alpine lake flanked by twelve and thirteen thousand foot peaks. It's a picturesque spot to spend your day exploring the waters on a paddle board, canoe, or kayak from Durango Board and Boat. Twilight lake is the perfect outdoor adventure the whole family can enjoy!

Colorado and the rest of the West have a rich mining history. Take a step back in time this summer by treasure panning at Purgatory Resort. The Durango Mining Co. is an old-west operation that lets treasure hunters go for the gold (and gems) while learning the history of Colorado mining.
